The SWM Rules 2016 also highlight the importance of creating public awareness through information, education and awareness campaigns to educate the waste generator on-not littering, minimizing waste generation and reuse of waste, segregation of waste and composting. Keeping this mind, the webinar takes us through prioritizing messages to be communicated, involving the various stakeholders and the support that Central/ State Govt. can provide to ULBs for better formulation of Solid Waste communication strategy.
Ms Shivani Wadehra
She is an Associate Fellow in the Centre of Waste Management with 6 years of experience. She has experience in data analysis, solid waste management, and capacity building. She has a masters degree in Operations Research from Delhi University and Environmental Studies from TERI University.
Dr. Prodipto Ghosh
He is involved in research and teaching at the interface of science, economics, philosophy, and public policy. Currently, he is Distinguished Fellow at TERI. He was a member of the IAS from 1969 to 2007, when he retired as Secretary, Ministry of Environment and Forests. He has also held the positions of Economic Advisor and Additional Secretary to the PM, Additional Secretary at the DEA, and Senior Environment Specialist at the Asian Development Bank, Manila. He was a member of India's negotiating team at the UNFCCC climate change negotiations from 2001 to 2012.
