Communication plays a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with the rules and successful implementation of planned strategies. The webinar takes the audience through Stakeholder mapping, Prioritizing messages to be communicated and the support that Central/ State Govt. can provide to ULBs for better formulation of Solid Waste communication strategy.

    Mr Kaushik Chandrasekhar, Associate Fellow, TERI

    His background spans the fields of municipal solid waste management, environment law and climate change. He has specific interest in food and plastic waste management and has had the experience of working with the municipal and state governments in India conducting solid waste audits and techno-economic feasibility assessments. He brings with him a culture of management consulting and expertise in wet, plastic waste management and RDF co-processing in cement plants.

    Ms. Dana Murray

    Ms. Murray has twenty four years of professional experience in civil/environmental engineering, including landfill gas emissions modeling and collection system design; landfill gas energy technology evaluation, feasibility analysis, energy user outreach and analysis; landfill closures; transfer station design and construction; and stormwater hydrology and hydraulics. In addition, Ms. Murray has managed multimillion dollar design and construction projects with multiple disciplines and subcontractors. She has provided technical assistance to the US EPA Landfill Methane Outreach Program (LMOP) for over 16 years including authoring several training presentations and manuals for LMOP, CCAC and GMI. The LMOP mission is to reduce Greenhouse Gas emissions by beneficially capturing and utilizing the methane gas produced at landfills. CCAC is a partnership of countries, cities and non-state partners with a focus on short-lived climate pollutants such as methane and black carbon. GMI MSW Sector is a partnership of countries with a focus on reducing and avoiding methane emissions from solid waste.

    Prof. P.U. Asnani

    Mr. Asnani is the chairman of Urban Management Consultants (UMC GLOBAL). He is country's renowned expert on urban governance and an International Expert on Solid Waste Management. Working in the urban & rural sector for over 35 years, Mr. Asnani's experience and expertise is widely sought by Central Govt., various state governments, civic authorities both nationally and internationally and international agencies such as UN and World Bank. He is working as Senior consultant to World Bank for a) improving Solid Waste Management in 177 cities/towns in Uttar Pradesh as well as b) Solid and Liquid waste management (SLWM) in rural areas of India to support Swachh Bharat Mission initiative of Government of India with thrust on training and capacity building of District & State officials and SBM staff engaged in the states.
